Upgrades to axis diplomat 2020

Frequently Asked Questions

1. If I upgrade to axis diplomat 2020, how long will that product be supported?

It has long been the policy of axisfirst to publicise the expected life of all of its products at the earliest opportunity. To this end, this website is actively maintained with the latest Product Support Lifecycle information and lists the dates up to which you can expect Mainstream and Extended Support for each release of axis diplomat to be available.

2. I have only recently bought axis diplomat 2018, do I qualify for special pricing?

Yes! Those users that have bought new axis diplomat 2018 within the months leading up to the launch of axis diplomat 2020 qualify for discounts as per the following table:

Those who subscribed to Software Assurance at the time of purchasing their new axis diplomat 2018 system are, of course, entitled to their licence upgrade to axis diplomat 2020 under the terms of their subscription.

Please note that these discounts apply to the cost of the licence upgrade only and not to any training, software support or consultancy charges that may be required when upgrading.

3. I have only recently upgraded to axis diplomat 2018. Have I missed out?

No. Our upgrade pricing policy has always been designed to encourage users to stay at the latest release. This ensures that, not only do they benefit from the latest features and enhancements at the earliest opportunity, but also that their support costs are minimised.

This policy means that we have ensured that the cost of upgrading to axis diplomat 2018 and then upgrading to axis diplomat 2020 is never more than the cost of upgrading directly to axis diplomat 2020 and, in most cases is actually cheaper. Furthermore, you will have had the opportunity to learn and benefit from the enhancements in axis diplomat 2018 before learning the new features of axis diplomat 2020. This also spreads your training requirement.

4. If I am not ready to upgrade to axis diplomat 2020 at this point in time, can I still purchase additional modules or client licences for my axis diplomat 2018 system?

Additional clients and modules will continue to be available for axis diplomat 2016 until 01/10/2022.

Additional clients and modules are no longer available for axis diplomat 2016 or below.

axis diplomat 2020 client licences are supplied with downgrade rights and can be added to existing axis diplomat 2018 systems (but not axis diplomat 2016 or below). This means that whilst still running axis diplomat 2018, you can purchase additional axis diplomat 2020 clients and use them on your axis diplomat 2018 system thus avoiding the need to purchase new axis diplomat 2018 clients now and then purchase client upgrades for those same clients when subsequently upgrading to axis diplomat 2020.
