Release Dates Confirmed for IOSS Support

New EU rules came into force on the 1st July for business-to-consumer (B2C) sales into the European Union. The VAT exemption for sales below €22 into Europe has been removed and all goods imported into the EU are subject to VAT.

The EU's Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) was created to simplify VAT and applies to transactions up to €150. It allows a seller based outside of the EU to register for VAT in a single European country yet charge and declare VAT at the correct rate for the particular country to which goods are being delivered.

We announced in May that we were committed to providing support within both axis diplomat 2020 and axis vMerchant and we are now pleased to confirm the release dates.

The axis diplomat 2020 IOSS module will available from 1st September 2021.

From 1st December 2021, support for IOSS will also be available in axis vMerchant.

axis vMerchant Express will offer built-in support for IOSS when coupled with an axis diplomat 2020 system with the IOSS module. axis vMerchant sites not built on axis vMerchant Express, including both bespoke and template-based sites, will require modification to support IOSS.
