Latest ONS Data on Internet Access in the UK
This month, the Office of National Statistics has released it's latest data on the levels, and types, of Internet Access across the UK.
In summary, they have found that, in the last 12 months:
- 76% of adults (38 million) accessed the Internet every day
- This represents an 80% increase over the 2006 figures, when records began
- Since 2010, access to the Internet via mobile phone more than doubled, from 24% to 58%
- 74% of adults bought goods or services online
- In 2014, the most popular online purchase was clothing
- 84% of households (22 milion) had internet access. Of those, 91% use fixed broadband Internet connections
