Important Changes for Amazon Merchants

Amazon are making significant moves to protect the personal information of their customers to comply with international security standards which include the GDPR in effect in the UK and EU.

As an Amazon developer, we have had to make changes to the axis diplomat software to ensure that PII (Personally identifiable information such as name, address, phone numbers and email addresses) is only seen by axis diplomat users on a "need to know basis".

To achieve this, we have needed to add a new security permission to axis diplomat which controls viewing PII.

In order to comply with Amazon's requirements, any axis diplomat system that interfaces with Amazon will now disable the viewing of PII for all users by default. For those systems interfacing with Amazon, system administrators will need to re-enable access on a user-by-user basis in line with their company's data protection policies.

The Amazon PII compliant release of axis diplomat will be available for download from Monday 18th November 2019 and we strongly recommend that this is installed and configured as soon as possible to remain compliant with Amazon's data protection policy.
