axis diplomat 2004 - Minimum hardware & system requirements

Description: Requirements for running axis diplomat 2004.

1. Workstation(s)

axis diplomat 2004 is designed for use with the following minimum specification of workstation:

1.1 Workstation Operating System(s)

Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional

Please note that Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and Microsoft Windows ME are specifically NOT supported. These are targeted by Microsoft at the home user. We do not support the use of axis diplomat on these operating system. axisfirst recommends Microsoft Windows XP Professional for business use.

1.2 Workstation Hardware

As per the recommendations for the operating system used plus:

Processor

Intel Pentium (or higher).

Memory

1MB RAM per axis diplomat 2004 application task running (this is in addition to memory required for operating system and any other applications in use). An axis diplomat 2004 application task is any axis diplomat 2004 function currently running on the workstation (the axis diplomat scheduler also counts as one task).

Video

 800 x 600 SVGA 15" colour display (with small fonts) minimum.
1024 x 768 SVGA 17" display recommended.
Please note that 640 x 480 VGA resolution is NOT supported.

Printers

Printer(s) supplied with Windows 2000 or XP printer driver (please note that printers without a specific Windows driver are not fully supported, this is only likely to affect printers manufactured prior to 1995).

2. Server(s)

axis diplomat 2004 is designed for use with the following minimum specification of server:

2.1 Server Operating System(s)

Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Terminal Services
Microsoft Windows 2000 Small Business Server

In addition, small 'peer to peer' networks (typically of between two and five workstations) may use the following operating system on the workstation acting as the axis diplomat database 'server':

Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with service pack 3 (or later)

2.2 Server Hardware

This is in addition to memory required for operating system and any other applications in use. 800 x 600 SVGA 15" colour display (with small fonts) minimum. 1024 x 768 SVGA 17" display recommended. Please note that 640 x 480 VGA resolution is NOT supported.

Disk Space

Between 500MB and 800MB disk space for programs (dependant on number of axis diplomat packages installed) plus recommended minimum of 500MB for data (1GB if using ODBC interface option).

Backup

Minimum of 3.5" 1.44MB or 120MB (LS120) floppy disk, ZIP disk, CDRW or DVDRW (+ or -) for low volume (e.g. single user systems). axisfirst approved tape drive (e.g. Travan, DDS DAT, AIT or LTO) with approved tape backup software (e.g. Veritas Backup Exec) recommended.
