Cyber Awareness Month 2023
As technology improves and matures, the level of sophistication of cyber attacks also increases. Artificial Intelligence tools that we are adopting and learning to use in our businesses also provide easier automation and integration opportunities for cyber criminals.
The UK government have looked to offer best practice guidelines and assistance and since 2020 IASMME have worked in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to introduce a framework called Cyber Essentials.
It is centred around 5 principles designed to help protect your valuable data and the personal information you hold in your business. By applying these principles and adopting this framework, you can attain self-certification and become cyber essentials compliant.
We are increasingly hearing from customers who have been asked by their insurance companies to complete questionnaires or to provide proof of certification in order to obtain cyber insurance cover for their organisation. Whilst this is not mandatory for all insurance companies yet, it is slowly becoming more and more so.
