axis vMerchant websites and PHP vulnerability

As many of our clients will have seen in the news, a significant vulnerability has been found in PHP - a programming language used by many web sites around the world. This vulnerability has been present for many years but has just been uncovered by a cyber-security firm's scan using AI.

The high profile nature of the coverage in the mainstream media will naturally raise concerns in anyone who has a website of their own.

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure all of our axis vMerchant clients that this vulnerability does not affect your axis vMerchant website.

axis vMerchant websites do not use PHP and in fact none of the web servers that run any of our axis vMerchant websites even have the PHP environment installed.

If you use any third party services via your website (for example, if you have a "live person" type chat facility) then you should also check with those third party providers as their services may be using PHP.
