AXIS Diplomat 2000 - Windows Printer Driver Recommendations
Last Reviewed:

Products affected: AXIS
Diplomat 2000 (& any Windows application)
Description: Recommendations
on Windows printer drivers for use with AXIS Diplomat 2000.
Introduction: This document
is intended as a reference to indicate the preferred Windows printer driver
to use with AXIS Diplomat 2000 especially where no specific driver is
available for a printer model or where the driver is known to cause problems.
Where a printer is not listed use the latest driver available (either
that provided by the printer manufacturer or Microsoft as applicable).
General Rules: Because
AXIS Diplomat does not ask much of a dot matrix printer, the simpler the
driver the better. A lot of the specific drivers for printers attempt
to be too clever in terms of providing graphics capabilities for the printers
and set page margins to handle this. These page margins stop AXIS from
picking sensible draft fonts and lead to page length and width errors.
It has been found that the basic drivers for Epson emulation printers
(this includes Panasonic and some OKI printers) are the Epson FX-100 for
9 pin printers and the Epson L-750 for 24 pin printers. The list below
documents tested combinations of printers and drivers.

required page lengths. We recommend you contact your printer supplier

Although a Panasonic KX-P3626 driver is available this driver
appears to produce spurious margin settings which cause AXIS Diplomat
to print at 7.5 lines per inch (rather than 6) and then leave a
gap of approximately 1.5" at the bottom of each page. |
