AXIS Diplomat - Windows NT "blue screen" STOP 0xA

Products affected: AXIS Diplomat 2000 and AXIS Diplomat 7.4 on Microsoft NT 4.0 Workstations or Servers.

Description:Running AXIS Diplomat on Windows NT Workstation or Server (either as the AXIS Diplomat server or as a client) causes NT to crash with a blue screen error STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in either nwlnkspx.sys or the NDIS driver for the network card being used. The crash will normally occur within minutes or even seconds of attempting to run AXIS Diplomat and will occur even on machines which are otherwise stable when running other applications.

These problems have been seen under Windows NT 4.0 Server, BackOffice Small Business Server 4.0a & 4.5, Windows NT 4.0 Server Terminal Services Edition, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation.

Resolution: These problems are were resolved by Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 except Windows NT 4 Terminal Server Edition where the problems were resolved in service pack 6. Systems AXIS specifies service pack 6 as the minimum requirement for running AXIS Diplomat. You should not attempt to run AXIS Diplomat on Windows NT 4.0 systems which do not have SP6 (or later) installed. Contact Microsoft or your support provider to obtain the latest Windows NT service pack.

Note that Systems AXIS supports only AXIS Diplomat 2000 under Windows NT Terminal Server Edition, AXIS Diplomat 7.4 is NOT supported in this environment. Note also that Windows NT Terminal Server Edition requires a specific service pack 6 (the standard NT4 service pack 6 is NOT applicable to this edition).
