axis diplomat - Supported Environments Summary

In general, a given release of axis diplomat will be supported on operating systems that were on full release from the vendor (for example Microsoft) by the time of that axis diplomat release and that were expected at that time to continue to be supported by the vendor for the duration of the period of mainstream support of that axis diplomat release.

Thin Clients

The following thin client software is approved by axisfirst when connecting to servers using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Services (previously known as Terminal Services): Windows 8 (all editions, including Windows RT), Windows 7 (all editions, including Home and Home Premium), Windows Vista and Windows XP using Microsoft RDP Client Apple Mac-based Desktops and Notebooks including iMac and PowerBook running Leopard or Snow Leopard using Microsoft RDP Client Apple iPad and iPhone using iTap (http://itap-mobile.com/itap-rdp) Android-based SmartPhones and Tablets using iTap

Mobile Platforms for Online Dashboards

Database

For axis diplomat 2010 or above, one of the following database products must be installed:

For versions of axis diplomat prior to axis diplomat 2010 the list of supported database products is the same but its presence is optional although certain functionality will not be available if it is not present.

* If you intend to use Microsoft SQL Express, please check the Microsoft documentation to ensure that limitations on this edition of SQL do not render it unsuitable for your system. axisfirst only supports SQL Express for use in conjunction with axis diplomat Express edition. Microsoft SQL Express is limited to support for 1 physical processor, 1 GB memory, and 10 GB storage (4 GB for Microsoft SQL Express 2008 and earlier).

Email Servers

For axis diplomat functions that send email directly via SMTP, the following email servers are supported:

• Microsoft Exchange 2010
• Microsoft Exchange 2007 SP1
• Microsoft Exchange 2003
• Kumulus Hosted Exchange (other hosted email services may work but are untested)
• Business Productivity Online Suite

Microsoft Office

Some functionality within axis diplomat (such as call attachment creation) requires a local installation of Microsoft Word on the client environment in which the axis diplomat client is running. This could mean the user's workstation or Windows Terminal Services / Remote Desktop. The supported versions are:

• Microsoft Office 2010 (32 bit) *
• Microsoft Office 2007
• Microsoft Office 2003

* axisfirst does not support the use of Microsoft Office 64 bit. Please refer to the Microsoft article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee681792.aspx for details regarding some of the issues.

Note 1: The minimum supported resolution assumes that the screen is not configured for large fonts, large dpi or other non-standard features that may alter the quantity of information that can be displayed on the screen.

Note 2: axis diplomat 2008 support for Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2010 R2 was released on 19/10/09

Note 3: axis diplomat 2010 is supported on both 32-bit and 64-bit variants of the operating systems. The client runs as a 32-bit application on 64-bit operating systems; axis diplomat 2012 includes both 32-bit and 64-bit clients
