Upgrading Instructions for GroupCalendar™ for Exchange 2003 or 2000
If you are upgrading your version from an existing installation of GroupCalendar for Exchange, please do the following
Step 1
On the Server, Go To Administrative Tools, Component Services, Computers, My Computer, Com+ Applications. Right Click on ExchGC and choose Shutdown
Step 2
Within Administrative Tools, go to the Services. Stop the Exchange GroupCalendar Check & Fix Service (If you have that installed)
Step 3
Extract the downloaded ZIP file, run the SETUP.EXE file only, not the .MSI file
Step 4
Open the GCADMIN tool and enable logging
Step 5
Create an item in your calendar. This will create an entry in the log file which can be used to verify that the version is correct.
If this is correct, disable logging otherwise the log files will grow in size and performance will decrease.
If this is not the correct version, this could be due to the fact that the COM+ component was still in use. We would recommend that you re-run SETUP.EXE when there are no users on the system and check the COM+ Component Manager.
