Step 3 of 6 - Assign Product/Stock Items to e-Business Groups

Having created your heirarchical catalogue structure, it is now simply a case of assigning products to those cataegories. This is done using an e-Business details tab on the standard product maintenance function.

Using this function, you assign a product code to the appropriate e-Business Group(s). You can also indicate whether the item is published (i.e. whether it is to appear on the web site), whether it is a special offer item and whether additional discount applies when customers purchase this item from your web site. All of the additional information necessary to produce an online catalogue (for example pricing, picture(s) and detailed specification) come from standard fields on the stock record.

If you have a large number of items to allocate, you can also use the Stock Record Block Amendment function to set entire ranges of products (by Product Group, Sales Group, etc.) into specific e-Business Groups and/or flag them as being Published. You can also use the function to set discounts for a range of products.
