AXIS VMerchant Step-By-Step Guide
Step 4 of 6 - Publish your Site!
Your Supplier or System Administrator will probably have configured your system to automatically upload information to your web site on a daily basis. If, having made changes to your database (for example, setting up a range of new e-Business Groups and associated products) you want to see the immediate effect of these changes, you can manually publish your data to the web site.
As can be seen from the example above, you can optionally publish a sub-section of the database; for example just the e-Business Groups, which can help speed up the upload process when you have only been working on a specific area. All of the information above will have been supplied to you as part of your AXIS VMerchant subscription and is recorded in the Site Details within the system. In normal situations, this information does not need to be changed.
You will also notice that the function allows a number of different Sites to be set up. This means that you can have one AXIS Diplomat system populating a number of different AXIS VMerchant web sites, with different ranges of products (as identified by the e-Business Groups) appearing on different sites. Each site can, of course, have a totally different look and feel. Our Gardening Equipment supplier, for example, could have three completely different web sites with different branding; one could only sell gardening books, one could only sell gardening power tools and the third could sell the entire range, including books and power tools.
Once the upload has completed, you can visit your web site and see the changes that you have made:
